Two Shores

16 lines · 141 words · 2 min read

Between the ache to drift and need to stay, I float where silence meets the edge of day.

You ask for all; I give you what I can— a breath, a glance, a hand to feel and more. But part of me still haunts a distant land, where solitude and hunger claim the shore.

You light the quiet room, yet still I chase the spark of something built alone, apart. Some nights I breathe and write in my own space, but miss the shape of you within my heart.

I crave the weightless climb; the dream unshared, the version of myself that stands alone. Yet when you hold me still, I'm unprepared to find your quiet touch feels just like home.

So let me walk, and seek what's true and new— but now: my steps still long to lead to you
