Two Chairs

17 lines · 62 words · 1 min read

Alan stacked two chairs, saving himself a journey. For a moment, there was a pile, a small kingdom of two.

Then he lifted one away, set it down where it belonged, and just like that— no stack, only chairs again.

Strange how something can vanish without going anywhere. How "together" is less a fact than a story we tell while things touch.
