Small Things

17 lines · 64 words · 1 min read

Small things bend me: laces, plates, questions like how are you?

I forget: to eat, to sleep, to open simple doors.

But give me a stage lit for a straight week, a thousand notes to arrange, a world to build from nothing, and I move without thinking.

I am a mirror, but backwards: what breaks others, holds me together. what holds others, breaks me.
